April 2011 Moms

anyone use a pillow for LO?

we just started using a blanket instead of the sleepsack and he's doing great with it...

but i went in to wake him up today (had 10 min to be at library class...i know judge away!)  and he was using his blanket as a pillow! it was actually really cute.

i wasn't really planning to use a pillow until he went into a toddler bed but just thought i'd get your thoughts!

thanks ladies

  • We don't use a pillow either.  I have a mini pillow pet in his crib that I put him on like a pillow, but he is all over the crib he never really uses it as a pillow.  He doesn't seem to mind no pillow so I'm not too worried :)

  • We have been using a tiny Ikea pillow since LO was a year.  She never uses it except to cuddle it like a teddy bear.  Now it is just a "security blanket"

  • Patrick has one (He's in a big-boy bed), which he starts out on, but he doesn't stay in place long enough to use it all night. I do see that he does move back up to it early in the morning. He likes to put his sippy under it.

  • Don't use one either, she moves around way too much to even attempt it. Also, her head is just so enormous that she really doesn't need one, if she did put her head on a pillow it would crane her neck badly.

  • We started using a pillow in the pack n play. We are getting her ready to transition her to her toddler bed. She does great and seems to sleep more comfortable now. She doesn't wake up AS MUCH!

  • He has a pillow pet in his crib, but he normally squishes it up under his belly when he sleeps. I kind of assume he would do the same with an actual pillow so he doesn't have one yet.

  • I'm not against pillows or blankets at this point, but she's so used to sleeping in an empty crib that if I try to put anything in there with her, she throws it all out onto the floor before she will go to sleep.

This is us too. she has a pillow pet that she uses, but she's still all over the place so most of the time she's not on it for long.
