Babies in Taxis?

Hello,

I'm from Pittsburgh, Pa and I'm coming to NYC this coming weekend to visit my sister. I have a 15 month old son and I'm not sure what to do with him when riding in the taxis. Do you carry your carseat all around with you? Looking for advise. Thanks.

I learned yesterday in my infant class that babies in NYC cabs or any other public cars (car service) do not need carseats...

when our DD grows out of her infant car seat, we're getting a sit n' stroll for cab rides and plane trips.

it may not be legally required, but why would you risk it? Is the convenience really worth risking your baby's life?
