Ugh. I know waiting is the nature of adoption, but I hate it when it turns into high pressure waiting. At our agency, you wait and wait, and then your case worker contacts you and asks if you are willing to be considered by a specific expectant mother.
If you say yes, then it's serious waiting time until you find out if she picked you. We've been through this once already and were not picked, and now we're under consideration again. I'm thrilled to be considered, but I'm totally driven to distraction. We likely won't know for another week or more.
I know you can relate, because it's not dissimilar to the 2 WW after an IVF cycle, except that if it "works" we'll only have 7 weeks (in this case), not 9 months to get ready for a baby!
