Baby Showers

Any Ideas for Snowflake Theme?.

Hello ladies, my sisters are throwing me a shower in November. Neither has thrown a baby shower before and they?ve asked for some ideas for the theme. We went with a snowflake theme since I?m due in January and I?ve been calling baby boy my little snowflake. We thought it was cute but now kinda at a loss on how to tie it all together. Any suggestions?? TIA!

  • Why not try a "winter wonderland" theme, rather than "snowflakes" specifically? That may make your life easier.

  • My sister is doing something similar for me.  She's going to have a hot chocolate bar with a lot of different toppings for guests.

  • I think it's a really fun idea- since it will be the time of year when you're getting holiday decorations out anyway, maybe hang some white christmas lights or snowflake lights, make some snowflake garlands, and decorate with a lot of winter white/silver.  The advantage- you can leave most of the decorations up and you'll be decorated for the holidays :-)

For favors, you could do snowflake ornaments or snowflake-shaped cookies.  For food, it's pretty easy to find snowflake cookie cutters- get a few different shapes and cut out finger sandwiches and cookies, or stencil on top of cupcakes.  Or maybe a dessert bar with white/vanilla desserts- vanilla frosting and coconut shreds would make great "snow."

  • One thing I thought of was making snowflake shaped white chocolate mints. I make these for every shower that I help with. All you need is a handful of snowflake shaped candy molds, white chocolate melts, and peppermint oil. I love the pp idea about a hot chocolate bar!

  • Hi!  I think that's adorable!  I saw snowflake baby shower invitations on minted.com.  And I saw cute favors on pinterest of "snowmen" made out of baby food jars and in the baby food jars was stuff to make hot chocolate ... like one had white mints, one had marshmallows, and one had the powder mix.  Then you use a paint pen to make a face and add a ribbon as the scarf.  I also think you could make snowflakes out of paper like we used to do in school and hang them from the ceiling.
