Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Ugh, I'm going to get lectured again

by the hubs for not getting anything done today.  Dc eats every hour now if not more, needs to be held upright after feedings to reduce spit up and in the weird chance that he does nap it's on the boob and will wake up if he's moved.  So no hubs, I didn't get anything accomplished today.  In fact I'll be calling you before you leave work to tell you to stop at the grocery store and get something for dinner!

  • If anything, he needs a lecture! :)

  • Yeah, your husband's an ass.

  • That wouldn't be going over well with me.  It is near impossible to get anything else done when you have a newborn.  If he wants things done so badly he can do them.  My DH was the sole cleaner and cooker in our house for at least the first two months and he still does a significant amount of the house work, just because you're home all day doesn't mean you are on vacation.

  • He needs a kick in the crotch.  Where do you live??
  • Bah, men!  Mine comes homes from work and naps when I had been up with DD all night and with her all  day.  So annoying.

  • Na, not an ass.  I need to get thank you cards done and there's never any time.  Maybe if he buys me the Moby for Christmas I'll get more done.

Do his hands not work?  Aren't the gifts for his child, too?

  • I would tell my husband to shove it if he lectured me on anything, let alone getting stuff done with a newborn.

I haven't eaten lunch today since Colin NEEDS a nap and has been sleeping on me for 2 hours now.  If I move he wakes up...i will go hungry before I wake him.  So yeah...NOTHING got done today.

  • Ahh, I see.  You're the doormat variety??  Carry on, then.

LOL  If he didn't write like a 5 year old girl I'd be telling him to do them.

  • Men often just don't get how much work it really is to be home with a newborn. They just think of it as being home. My DH made some crack last night about something not being picked up and how I was home all day so I should have done it. I threatened him with night time baby duty, which I do soley and get crap for sleep because I am breastfeeding. He shut up pretty quick after that.
  • I'd kick dh's butt if he ever lectured me, especially with a newborn, about anything not being done around the house.  In fact, dh would take that as a sign that I'm overwhelmed and would kick in with cleaning and cooking.
  • Um, ds is 4+ months old and there are still VERY many days I don't get anything done. tell him to get used to it.
  • I would just tell him to bite me.  DH was always pleasantly surprised when I was able to get little things done or I had made dinner.  He never expected it of me cause he stayed home with me for the first 6 weeks and knows what it is like.
  • Sounds like my day.  I opted to use her nap in the bassinet for my time to take a shower.
