My 19 m/o dd has been getting rx iron drops since her iron levels came back low at her 12 month blood draw. At 15 months, they had gone up but were still on the low end of normal, so her pedi reduced her daily dosage. She wants her to be re-tested again at 2 years, and if her levels are good we can stop the drops then. I am concerned about the stains on her teeth from the drops. They don't look terrible by any means, but there is some discoloration. Has anyone experienced this? Will the stains fade after we discontinue the drops? Is there anything I can do to make them go away or prevent them from getting worse? I already wipe them off with a wet washcloth right after her dosage.
