We were supposed to be doing a hybrid protocol this week (mix of orals and injects) and trying our first IUI. But, that's all out the window now. I have had a terrible cold all week and then yesterday took an OPK and found out the ovulation process was already starting. Today is day 10 and I was supposed to go in for monitoring, triggering, with IUI tomorrow. None of that is happening now since we'll all off schedule. I didn't even get to take my last inject. And my response was only ok. So disappointing all around.
Have any of you had cancelled IUIs for similar reasons? Is ovulating early normal? I know someone on here has been experiencing something similar but I don't recall who.
If you've had an IUI, at what point in your cycle does it usually occur?
What are you follicle count/sizes at your pre-IUI monitoring?
Re: Disappointing week
I was the one having that problem. I have taken Letrozole (Femara) and each month I was ovulating before I could even begin testing. It was very frustrating. Did you talk to your RE about this yet? If you are doing meds, the opk will show as nearly + because of the meds. I was doing opks and a fertility monitor and I would get a high on the fertility monitor from the meds, but then not get the peak. The clear blue easy fertility monitor will continue to show high until a peak test, so it can be a bit unreliable and frustrating to use because of that.
If you are using a fertility monitor, try using opk's also. You may still have a chance this cycle.

AprilDrew - I remember your story now. You are ovulating really early, like day 6, correct?
My RE specifically told me to use OPKs this cycle, in the past I wasn't and was using Ovidrel a day or two before I would normally ovulate on my own. I asked RE about meds giving me a false positive on the OPKs and he said they would not. I got two very clear positives on the First Response OPKs (darn store didn't have the digital Clear Blue Easys that day).
I did go in for an U/S yesterday and he could tell that ovulating was indeed starting. He identified fluid in the pelvic cavity thus indicating ovulation imminent. That was something new I learned. So, no doubt that the test was accurate.
What is a fertility monitor?
We are still doing timed intercourse, so sure, maybe there's a chance but we've been trying for at least 16 cycles that way so I'm not optimistic.
