Make sure you keep a warm coat in the car for your kids when you are out in the winter. I know you can't use it in the carseat, but it is good to have along in case you break down or get stuck. We also keep a winter emergency kit in the car with extra blankets (some fleece & some survival ones), food, water, diapers, extra clothes for the kids, some toys/books for the kids, etc.

    Thank you for posting this. I need to add a few more things to my stash for DS. I've been keeping 2 blankets just in case for him but I need some of the other things too.
