Adoption Gifts

My husband's boss and family are gaining a new member from China this Spring! I'm so excited for them, I want to do something. Because of a medical condition, the chance of babysitting occasionally for them is probably out of the window. They don't need any extra supplies either, so what kind of gift do I give them? Any ideas are helpful! Thanks!

    How old is the child?  Are they having a baby shower at all?  Have they registered anywhere?

    No baby shower or registry, the child will be 2 1/2. I'm just trying to think of a charm bracelet or something, maybe for their 3 girls? Something simple.

    If you like the charm bracelet idea, maybe look at a Brighton store if you have one near you.  When we finalized our daughter's adoption, we bought her a bracelet there and a letter "Z" charm for her name.  Then we added a heart the 2nd year.  And this year she picked out her own charm - a tiny camera.  She loves it.  It's an adult size but you can adjust it by moving the clasp and making it smaller.  We went with the adult size so it will grow with her.

    Someone gave me this willow tree figurine called, "Child of my heart" and I LOVE IT!  It comes with a poem that says, "Child of the world, Into my heart you came- Bringing sun into my life, Making family our name."

    Laparoscopy scheduled December 2013
