Paging Trudy the Apple Expert!

I'm online to order my new phone. It says it will ship in two weeks. I am going on vacation in 3 weeks. In your experience, do the shipping timeframes given tend to be true to what they say? Should I wait until I get back?

    Just curious- what is so special about the iPhone 5? Is it really much different from the 4? A new one comes out yearly and I guess I just don't get it. (this coming from someone who has never touched an iPhone)

    I'm not getting it because I necessarily think it is special. I have an iPhone 3 that is about to meet it's demise. The battery won't stay charged up and it is cracked/ gets awful reception. It is nearly 4 years old. I have a gift card to the Apple store so I'll be paying just $99 for a new phone. The 5 isn't that much different than the 4... Well besides the differences. :)

    Bigger display, better battery life, much improved camera: those are the things I am interested in, particularly as my iPhone is basically the only camera I ever use, because it's always handy. I have a 4, I skipped the 4S, I will get the 5.

    Thanks! I am up for a new phone and though I have been anti-iPhone for no reason I am considering possibly getting one.

    Sorry it took me so long to respond!

    They will deliver it on the exact day they say they will. I think you'll be okay. 

    I've heard rumors that some of the later orders being placed are having delayed shipping but you'll know the exact date when you get the conformation email.

    I think the reason for it is because it takes up less room inside the phone which is how the new phone is lighter and thinner. To me, it's annoying because I have so many of the old chargers and now I'll only have one. Boo.

    The new adapter thing sucks balls but will make a lot of companies a lot of money. Unless the wholesalers are stuck with tons of outdated inventory in which case they are SOL. Although the 4s going down in price will attract new consumers who will continue to demand the peripheal devices for quite some time. Personally it will be a PITA because I have chargers everywhere and they won't work with the new phone.
