If you use an Ergo

Do you still use the infant insert? I just got one since wearing DD in the Bjorn was literally breaking my back and I love it so far. I didn't even consider buying the insert since she is close to, if not over, 16lbs, easily longer than 26 inches, and has great head control. Should I have??

Re: If you use an Ergo

  • I got mine three weeks ago and had no intention on using the infant insert... didn't even think about it being an option!

  • I never bought the infant insert and ds is pretty much the same size and he has no issues not using it.

  • We haven't used it since she could hold her head up.  We used the infant insert only when she was too little to hold her head up and was much more willing to be the meat in a baby taco.

  • I wouldn't buy it at this point, but I'm still using mine.

  • Your DD is def big enough to not use it. We still use the bottom pillow part of it but only because V is such a shortie.

  • I wouldn't, we go the ERGO when LO was just over 3 months and never used the infant insert.  She has done fine without it.

Pic DS is awake and we are inside I use it so DS can look around better but definitely not needed.... DS is tiny though, 13 lbs,...

  • I don't use it with my son and haven't for awhile! :)

  • I never used the infant insert with either of my kids, and I started using the Ergo when they were about a month old. I just froggied their legs until they were comfortable sitting with their legs out. If they needed to be up a little higher, I just put a rolled up blanket under their butt.

  • we don't use the insert anymore- in the beginning we used the whole thing and then we used just the pillow for awhile but now he can be in it by itself
  • I used the insert until E was about three months. It boosted her up a bit but she is big enough now that we don't need it. You will be fine without!
