I'm sitting here bored, basically waiting for our daughter to be born. Four days until her eviction! With all of this time on my hands, I was wondering if anyone else has thought about what qualities they would love for their LO's to have, from Mom and Dad. From me, I would love it if our daughter gets a love of animals and helping them. From MH, I would be thrilled if she inherited his unshakable nerve. It's nearly impossible to stress that man out! Anybody else?

Re: Qualities you'd love for your child to have?
She is a true blessing and I would not trade her for all the money in the world.
Physically- I hope she(wishful thinking
We don't know the sex yet) gets everything from my husband. He has the prettiest legs- haha!

Personality- I hope she gets my husband's kindness and my tenacity. I hope she shares both of our awesome senses of humor.
Mentally- I hope she gets a nice balance of DH's engineering/math/practical life skills and my creativity.
We've been lucky that our 4 year old DD seems to have gotten the best of our physical qualities DH's thick hair, with longer lasting blond (he had blond hair until he was about 8) but my curls.
She also seems to have our combined stubbornness, and imagination. And my artistic creativity.
I'm hoping DS gets a lot of these as well, plus a healthy sense of adventure.
I hope that my LO gets my husbands sense of humor, legs, common sense and his astounding ability to read situations and people correctly in an instant. Oh...forgot his fabulous cooking skills.
From me I hope that he gets a love of reading and learning, an ability to be empathetic and provide good advice when asked.
I hope that he doesn't get my tendency to get bored easily or impatient. I hope that he doesn't get DH's need to be right all the time and sulk when he's wrong.
Physically I hope LO gets my teeth and DH's eyesight - his teeth are bad and my vision is bad.
I hope LO is an animal lover like we both are, loves to learn/read, cooks better than either DH or I do, common sense, loves to travel/explore, empathy, creativity....that's a good list to start.
BFP #2 - 7/1/12 - Met my lucky charm Alexandra on 3-16-13!!!
Athletically - It would be great if she got my husband's natural athletic ability. I swear, the man could skate backwards the first time out on the ice. But along with it, she should have my ability to work through skills and training she finds hard, since the husband used to assume if he couldn't do it the first time, it just was impossible.
Intellectually - She's probably doomed to be a math type, since the husband and I both have degrees in mathematics. Hopefully she can have my husband's ear for music, and my ear for languages. Above all this, I hope she has an immense sense of intellectual curiosity, and that we are patient enough to answer her questions. If she's a little odd and goofy, she'll fit right in.
Physically - We pretty much know she'll be blue-eyed, blonde-ish, and wear glasses. I kind of hope she doesn't get my family's "everyone is short" genes.
I'm not really that hung up on all the specifics, but it's hard not to create an imaginary child when you project yourself into the future.
