car seat installation boston area

Hey guys~

Any of you take your infant seat to someone to get it installed? Or if you installed yourself, did you take it someplace to get your installation checked? The Boston police dont pick up the phone! I have already left 2 messages. Somerville police only do it for Somerville rresidents. Medford police will do it, but they only do it on tues nights in a back parking lot/garage. Shady. And my DH has basketball league on tues nites so he can't come with me.

Help.

    I had mine done by the Cambridge police at the Cambrige Armory (by the Fresh Pond rotary).  I went by myself, pulled into a bay, filled out some paperwork, then waited about 10 minutes while they put it in.  If I remember correctly, I think they only do it on Wednesdays.  When I called I left a message and they got back to me that same day.  It's definitely worth having it done by them, as they got it installed tighter then we ever could.

    some car dealerships do it too....google car seat inspections--there are quite a few sites that tell you who does it;  I installed my seat and then took it to an inspection station.

    have no idea why my post posted like it did.  I had included a link to see where in your area does them;  just google "car seat inspections"  there are a few sites that have lists....car dealerships and police stations

    We had ours done in Wellesley. ?But I think Babies R Us has nights they do it as well.

    The Hanover Fire Dept. does it.  My DH's cousin does them there so he just did it for me at our house, but he does them all the time.  I'm not sure if you have to be a resident there though
