I need to clean my house...

I don't mind cleaning but I just never get around to it.  I keep my house tidy so everything is put away and laundry is done but I never clean.  I mean like wash floors and bathrooms kinda clean.  My basement has been under construction for a couple years because of water damage so everything that should be in the basement is on the main floor.  It's really annoying especially in a small house.  So I keep putting off cleaning because well a: I have no time with LO and b: because DH is constantly "working" on the basement and getting dust and bringing stuff upstairs.  I thought about getting a cleaning lady bi-weekly just to do all the floors and bathrooms but then I think about what I could do with that money and that I should just do it myself.

There's no real point to this post... X is napping and I'm too lazy to clean...

  • I hear ya! It's so hard to find the time (especially time when neither of us is exhausted).  We had our house appraised this morning, in order to refinance, so this week was a non-stop cleaning frenzy. It sucked. But, our house is clean.

Do you get groupon/livingsocial/crowdcut emails? I've gotten house cleaning deals in the past and they are usually quite inexpensive. We used them all during LO's first 3 months of life, knowing we'd be too busy to keep up.  Just offering an idea:)

  • I HATE cleaning. We used to live in a huge house and cleaning took ALL day long, even with H helping me. Now we live in a small apartment so its much more doable. I bought a little white board to go on our fridge, and I have a 'chore' to do once a day. It REALLY helps me stay on top of cleaning, because otherwise I just don't do it. And being a SAHM, H gets kind of annoyed when he comes home from work and I've done nothing all day. Haha. Today was vacuuming the living room. Easy peasy! And now my entire house is clean because I started on Monday. Love it!

I like this idea.  Just doing one thing a day is doable.  I may steal this!

  • My advice- have less stuff. It's much easier and faster to clean when you don't have to move things around. I sweep at least twice a week, but I don't pick up before hand. If it's small enough to sweep, it goes in the dirt pile. If dd doesn't rescue it, it goes in the trash. Also, I've started using the clip on things for the toilets. They look clean for much longer.

It really is nice! And I get it done in the morning when DS is content in his exersaucer! Usually it takes me, 10-15 minutes to do my 'chore'. I'll share my schedule. Mon: Clean kitchen. Tues: Bathrooms. Wed: Vacuum/Mop kitchen and bathroom. Thurs: Vacuum/pick up Bedroom. Fri: Vacuum living room. Covers the whole place and by Friday everything is clean and we can just relax on the weekends!
