I find it so upsetting. I also have a really, really hard time feeling any sort of empathy for a woman who is depressed over her three perfectly healthy sons.

The last quote calls it high-tech eugenics. I think that's spot-on.

Yeah, she cried for days and fell into a deep depression because she didn't have a daughter.

At one point, towards the end of the article, someone points out that you may end up with a daughter who is a tomboy. Can't return her.

I can understand wishing for a daughter, especially if you already have a slew of boys, but to drive yourself into a depression about it so stupid. I wanted a girl at first Embarrassed

. I teared up at my ultrasound when the tech told me. But i got over it real fast, and now i feel guilty that i ever thought that way!! I realize now, each gender is amazing.

My mil had three boys and wanted a girl so she adopted one!..... Then she turned out gay.... I guess that is her karma for being an evil b.

This whole article makes me sick. They thought about an abortion at 15 weeks when they found out their 3rd baby was a boy. They spent 40k to get their girl and the mom had to work 6 days a week for months to pay for it. That's just wonderful to put yourself into that much debt. I feel so bad for her boys!

Also there is another lady who said she wants a girl because she doesn't like "boy stuff" like violent video games. Ok, you should not have kids at all!

I wanted a boy and it took me some time to warm up to the idea of a girl. I know that was awful of me, and I should have been excited either way, but I couldn't help it.

My feelings came from the fact that I feel like being the oldest sibling is harder for girls. I'm an only child, so I really have no clue, I am just basing it off of my family's and friend's family dinamics.

I always thought I would have a girl first. I just love having a boy and I actually want another boy! I think it would be great!
