    Yes

I had a prolapse after LO1. It was in between my two areas, causing lots of pain and took a long time to heal.  It did eventually heal and I had no trouble with it. Since becoming pregnant again though, it has started swelling a little and hurting again. My doc said it was normal and due to weakened muscles. She said they would resew the entire area after birth this time.

Can they please just show this reply in a HS sex ed or something?  Abstinence would definitely prevail after this gem.

LOL!  yeah, if kids only new the unglamorous truth about what happens during and after childbirth!

  • Coming out of lurkdom posted before but very rarely. Let me tell you ... I am suffering the same the same thing!

I have been thinking abt asking on here to see if anyone else is suffering.

The following might be TMI ... So proceed with caution. I saw my ob after months of just wondering and highly recommend you doing so. Here is what happened:

Symtoms: urine leakage, cervix out of vagina abt an inch when I was constipated but usually always out but not as much best case scenario it is at the base of the opening and of course the pain, sleepgasms I don't like those and getting turned on at the drop of a hat bc the pressure was in places ... Well where it shouldn't be. When I peed, it wouldn't go down like it should, flew to the sides bc of pressure on urethra. Plus spotting when I cleaned to roughly. Sorry ... Just been dealing with it too long.

Doc recommended: After a few months of trying out kegels, bladder training and trying to lose weight didnt succeed much on that one am trying though.

Follow up plan: she wanted me do the above and see if it would fix things, if not she would fit me for a pessary to wear till things get better or Until i am done having babies. Once i am done ... She would do surgery to repair muscles.

Follow up appt: I went for my follow up appt. she wanted me to wait more... I understood her reasoning but if I can feel my uterus/cervix out of vagina or at base 95 of the time .... Something has to be done. I mentioned all this to my physican and she couldn't believe my ob hadn't fit me for a pessery as it was severe and weight loss / kegels weren't going to cut it., so back I went after a month. she fitted me for a pessery which took over a month come in.

Where am I now: got the pessery abt 10 days ago. Got a yeast infection the next day from the lube they used or bc it's something new to my body. Infection is almost gone and I will be putting it back in later this week. The pessery did help but bc I put it in wrong later that evening I was in some serious pain. Eventually will learn.

I am sharing all this hoping it'll help you and other moms. I had a c section 1st baby and didn't gain a lot of weight during pregnancy but more so after I stopped breastfeeding. I did have prolapse in my first tri but it went away as baby moved up. Doc said my history of constipation and straining etc contributed to it.

I really freaked out and pushed to get the pessery when the general physician told me that women who don't get this fixed and have such a severe problem have to get a hysterectomy. I don't think I am mentally ready for that as i want more kids or want to deal with the symptoms afterwards.
