Did you ask for LO to be wiped down/cleaned up a bit before given to you?

They asked me if I wanted to hold him right away and I said yes....originally I wasn't sure how I would feel about it, but I'm glad I did. They toweled him down while he was on me and at that point there was so much blood/fluids everywhere I didn't even care that the hospital gown got gross (and they brought me a new one once things settled down).

They put her on my stomach immediately, the last thing I was thinking about was cleanliness.

Dd didn't have a bath until 7 hrs after she was born. I had a rcs so by the time i got to hold her (5 hrs later), everything was dried up on her but she still looked as beautiful as ever!!!

I had a c-section and didn't know what happened in what order but I think they cleaned her body up and then put her on my chest. Later, in the room, they washed her hair and cleaned what was needed.

They placed her on my chest the second she came out and toweled her off while she was there. Granted, she wasn't nearly as messy as I thought she'd be!

I asked that she be cleaned before she was handed to me. I also asked for a delayed cut. Neither happened but I was ok with it. Like pp it didn't matter about cleanliness at that moment.

They handed her right to me and toweled her off a little while she was on my chest. Like pps said, I didn't even think about it how yucky she was. I was too smitten

I wanted him ASAP so they gave him right to me. They toweled him off on me and he didn't get a bath until 4 to 5 hrs later.

Nope. Specifically requested that she be immediately be placed on my chest. They helped me Take the top of my gown down and I held her while they wiped her off a bit. They didn't take her from me to weigh and clean her for at least 15 minutes.

I wanted to take him right away but I had to be sewn up so he was cleaned before I got him.

They put him on me right away and cleaned him off while he was on my chest/stomach.

They asked me if I wanted her right away but I told them to go ahead and wipe her off first. She had to be checked to make sure she didn't breathe in any meconium since they found it in what came out when they broke my water. She was only away from me for about 5 minutes before we did skin to skin.

They put her on my chest as soon as she came out, but had a blanket underneath her, so I just used to blanket and rubbed her head. I was just in shock and unable to do much other than that.

I did not ask for him to be cleaned first. I wanted to hold my baby asap. However, I ended up in a c-section. I was horribly sick from the stress and medication that I was throwing up. After they wiped him down, they did put him on the table so I could see him. But then I didn't get to hold my son until 4 hours after he was born. He already had a bath and everything by the time I got to hold him.

I wanted her right away and that's what they did. They wiped her down a bit while she was on my chest but like the other girls said, you won't care how slimey they are.

They actually let me help deliver her sort of. Once her head, shoulders and arms were out they had me reach down under her arms and pull her right up to my chest. They toweled her off when I was lifting her up, but it was such an awesome experience
