JFF: WWYD re: "okay to be excited"

So...childcare is taken care of for 48 hours by a very reliable source that you trust completely. You can instantly be transported anywhere. You can take anyone with you. Where do you go? What do you do?

Somewhere by yourself to sleep? A romantic weekend with you and DH? A spa getaway with the girls? Or maybe you can't stand the thought of being away from LO and you'd want to take him too?

What's your dream weekend right now?

I would spend a weekend in Santa Barbara, CA with DH. We visited a few months before I got pregnant and stayed at this incredible hotel. One day DH went and played golf and I went to the spa - I think we'd do that again. Go tour some wineries and get some great wine to drink in front of the fireplace in our room. Ahhhhhhh!!!

I would leave ds with my mom and DH and I would head to san Francisco for the weekend. Actually make that napa. Ahh that would be soo nice

SO and I would be driving up the California coast enjoying the ocean views and maybe having dinner and a wine tasting at a vineyard followed by a stay in a beautiful hotel where I can afford to get pampered and get to sleep in.

Reality is now depressing.

I would love to go to NYC with DH. I'll be honest though, I haven't ever been away from DS more than a few hours so I don't know if I could do it.

I'd go to the mountains. Preferably a ski resort. I just love the thought of playing all day in the snow and then snuggling with DH infront of a very nice fire and dinner. I like the idea of hot springs as a PP suggested!

We might do this next year when I know that we will be able to leave the kids with my mom. MIL would poop her pants if she was left with both kids. Confused

I would want to do a girl's getaway spa and party weekend with my best girlfriends. Probably somewhere like Hawaii or something.

I would head on a cruise to a warm destination and spend lots of time sleeping on a chair in the sun by the pool. Then spending the evenings getting some one on one time with the husband.

Honestly, I would want to go somewhere alone. DH has such a major body clock, he gets up at 6:30 no matter what. And when he is up, I am up. I would love to go to a B&B, sleep in, have a spa day by myself, take a hot bubble bath, curl up next to the fireplace in my room with a book and a bottle of wine, go to bed early and sleep some more. And I want my room to have a view of the changing leaves and maybe some mountains.

I knew I loved sleeping before DD, but omg, now I realize how much I reaaallllyyy love to sleep.

Thinking about this now, I am so tempted to actually plan this for myself.

Weekend in Vegas, for sure! I'd go to the Spa, while DH would play poker, and at night, walk the strip, play Blackjack and eat at a fancy restaurant. We did that the month before I got pregnant for our anniversary, I miss it!

I'd take DH to Caye Caulker, an island in Belize, so he can see my favorite place in the world!

Although I do like PP idea of a cold place with hot springs.

if we were in the states, we would go to Monterey, California (where we used to live, and where we got married) and stay at a nice hotel for the weekend.

One day I would nap, eat, go to the spa, and hit up our favorite winery in Carmel.

the other maybe a trip to SF for the day, and see some friends.

Since we are in Europe, though, dh and I would go somewhere - not sure where that would be! Maybe Paris because we haven't gone there yet, I think it would only be a one hour flight.

Back with MH to the Hana Maui Hotel. It's one of the places we went on our honeymoon. It was the most peaceful place Ive been. No computer, no phone, no Tv, no clocks. Ocean, palm trees, hammocks, and quiet instead. I go back there in my head often.
