Squeaky shoes?

Did anyone have them when they had toddlers? Were they super annoying? I think they would be cute for about 2 minutes...

Re: Squeaky shoes?

  • OMG!  A mom at an event I attended recently had them for her toddler, and those darn things drove me nuts!  The other mom, however, said she loves them b/c they allow her to keep track of her DD w/o actually keeping an eye on her.  Indifferent

  • A friend of ours had them for her DD too - she wore them when we were at their house for a party.  I don't really remember them making a ton of noise, but she swore by them for teaching her LO to walk because she loved the noise they made.  Kinda thought about it for DD#2 since she STILL is not walking.  I wouldn't have her wear them outside of the home, but then I don't see myself spending the $ (they're pretty pricey) to just wear them at home.  LOL

  • I work at a daycare and they are HORRIBLE!  As soon as the child is dropped off we either remove the shoes or the squeaker(replaced before P/U).  I don't think the parents know that one squeaker isn't horrible if the child is barely walking but when the child starts to run around talk about annoying and then when you have 3 or 4 with squeaker it enough noise to make you go NUTS!  Oh and one of our parents adopted a little girl from China and they said, "Aren't her shoes cute, the foster home sent us home with a whole suitcase of these shoe, one in each size and color!"  YAY, squeakers for a year, YAY! Sad
