Why can't FB be more like TTCAL? (vent) *babies and pgs ment. Not mine obviously*

I need warnings there too, damnit. 

I got on FB today to answer a message, but I couldn't help but scroll down on my newsfeed to see what everyone's up to (I'm only human)

What I found? A baby gaga ticker from a girl who I went to HS who's 15 weeks and a big ole picture of a newborn baby from another girl I went to HS with. I was unaware either of them were even pg until then. Not to mention like a zillion pictures and statuses from a friend of mine about her baby (To make matters worse we were pg at the same time, and we both had complications with the pg around the same time. Her baby came out fine. Mine didn't.)

There's no point to this other than to express my frustration. I spend so much time on TTCAL that sometimes I forget that the world isn't kind to people like us and not everywhere can be a safe place like this.

    What a coincidence! That's exactly what I did! I have to physically restrain myself from punching the screen sometimes. And don't even get me started on how I restrain myself from punching the notoriously bad parents in walmart. It's a miracle I'm not in jail by now.

    Thank you ladies. It's nice to know people understand and that I'll always have a place to go to complain about this stuff. And I know what you mean about blocking half your friends. I have very few people that are allowed on my newsfeed anymore and that number shrinks almost every time I get on FB.

    Ugh. So annoying. I?ve been reading obnoxious status updates from a girl from HS for years now. She?s been TTC for several years, bitching about how sad it was, how hard it was, how she hated her ute (which, yea? duh. But is that really what FB is for?) So she finally gets KU, then all she can do is ***? how she?s huge, she?s hot, miserable, blah blah blah. Then she had the kid the other day and posts somewhat graphic birth photos on FB. NO SHAME.

    All testing shows both H and I are perfectly normal. Baby Nacho had triploidy.

    Facebook puts me in tears half the time I go on.  I feel like some of the pics and status updates are deliberately trying to rub it in to those of us still with empty arms.  Mostly I know its in my head, but sometimes I wonder about some people...

    Gross. I got blindsided by a pic of one of my FB "friends" breastfeeding for the first time a couple months ago. Like, really? I get that that's an amazing moment for you, but did all of the internet need to see your tits? Probably not.

    Lexilynn345: I know what you mean. Sometimes I think the universe knows when I'm having a bad day (EDD, anniversary) and deliberatly throws reminders at me all day.

    Roxycc55: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've hid like 90% of my friends from my newsfeed and still FB always has some new knives to stick in my back every time I get on.

    I've thought very seriously about taking a FB break, but unfortunately, that is how I get news about good friends too.  I hate being out of touch.  And, I also don't know that taking a break will make things better -- as soon as I'd go back, I'd see more of the pregnancy/baby related stuff, and it isn't like it'll get easier.  It will still suck then.

    I know what you mean. I took a break for about 5 months after my loss ( I hated seeing baby gaga posts from my friend every week) but when I came back there was buttloads of new news for me to be sad/angry/outraged/hurt at. Unfortunatly there's always going to be huge slaps in the face around every corner for us. Whether it be on the internet or IRL.

    Every time I see a post like this it makes me a little bit happy that I am so old that most of my friends are done having kids. Sorry you all have to deal with this.

    Lucky you! lol I hate being so young when it comes to this. I'm 19 and FI is 24 and while we're quite ready to have a family, most of the babies I see on FB are products of thier mothers being huge sl*ts. Which is just a whole other level of depressing.

    I totally understand your frustration.  Just follow these steps:  Yell at the screen, Block offending poster, Come to TTCAL and relax a little :)

    This! I can't but go on FB...but then I just end up doing these three steps and things get a little better. ((HUGS))

    My old hairstylist posted an ultrasound to announce her pregnancy at six weeks the other day. I almost threw my laptop.

    Ugh. For some reason it angers me when people announce thier pg really early on. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm just a little scared for them becaue I know how emotionally dangerous that can be. Or maybe I just know I'll be jealous when they make it to 12 weeks and on.
