recommend your stroller please...

I have a travel system currently and looking to upgrade. I will be purchasing the britax car seat and am looking for a lightweight easy to fold, fully reclinable, sturdy stroller that my 3 month old can be comfortable in without having to be in the car seat. Do any of you have something like this? And would you recommend why or why not?

I've been researching this for the past few weeks and have not found a really good one yet.

TIA..

  • We have the Baby Jogger City Mini and I love it! Folds up with one hand, reclines flat enough for a newborn, and steers nicely. We have the 2012 version, which automatically locks when folded. It's great for sidewalks and paved paths or indoors at the mall, etc. It's my favorite baby purchase.

  • Britax B Agile. you can use your carseat with it, but it also has a full recline so your LO can use it now as well. I absolutely LOVE ours. It weighs right at 16 pounds, folds really easily, and I can maneuver it with just one hand. (I sound like a commercial! lol)

We've used ours in the full recline with LO and he loved it. Baby Gismo on youtube has a great review of it and a side by side of it with the City Mini.

    how much does it weigh?

  • Looks like 16.8 pounds.

I know one of the main complaints about the City Mini is the rear axle - tall parents or those with a long stride have a tendency to kick it while pushing. Neither DH nor I have ever kicked it (he's 5'10" and I'm 5'4"). We went to a local baby boutique and tried a couple of different strollers. The BJCM won because it was so easy to fold, and handled so nicely. We did not test the Britax B-Agile; we also don't use an infant car seat so we weren't concerned about compatibility that way.

  • We have the Britax B-Agile stroller and B-Safe seat combo. It is great!

  • I have a city select and love it. It's perfect if you plan to have another child bc you can add another seat. I love that it's a single or double. Ds3 already uses the regular seat in it.

  • I have a Chicco Keyfit car seat, and we have both a Keyfit Caddy (lightweight carseat holder stroller) and BOB Revolution (with car seat attachment) as our strollers. It's nice to have the choice between the lightweight, easy to transport stroller for shopping/mall/etc, or the nice big all terrain stroller for outdoors.

However, based on your wants and the fact that you will be getting a Britax car seat, I would recommend the B-Agile (or City Mini, which is very similar). Both recline to flat/near flat. If you are getting the B-Safe infant seat, I think it's supposed to snap right in to the B-Agile if you chose to use it that way, and I think you can actually get the two together as a travel system. I would love to replace the Keyfit Caddy with either a B-Agile or City Mini when LO outgrows his infant seat.

  • I have three strollers and like them all for different reasons (DD is two). With DD I used the snap n go for the first year and that was great because it was lightweight but I did not like how much room it took so at around 5 months I got a Chico lightway. The lightway is a fancy umbrella type stroller and folds really small, which is nice. I also have a Bob revolution. I love Bob but it is so big and bulky that I often find myself not wanting to keep it in my car because of the size (I cant fit other things in the car). With DS I have found myself using the liteway the most because it is small and reclines flat. I have not used the snap n go much due to the summer heat and needing the car seat. I pretty much only use bob for long walks and trips to the zoo and things like that.

This exactly! Over the weekend I ended up getting the B-Agile stroller ...Thanks everyone for your help!

  • We have a City Select and LOVE it, but I wouldn't consider it light weight.  We got it after DD was born as we knew we wanted another LO and hated the stroller that came with her travel system.  I think you're going to find that most 3mo can't go comfortably in the stroller at this point without being in an infant seat until he/she can sit up unassisted.  DD didn't sit in the actual stroller part until she was 5 closer to 6 mo and we'll do the same with DS.  If you don't have a snap 'n go stroller, I'd recommend one of those in the interim if you're looking for light weight and easy.

  • We have the Peg Perego Si lightweight stroller and love it! It's extremely easy to fold and open with one hand, fully reclinable, has adjustable handles (great place to put the diaper bag), and it's sturdy and bright red! So, if I ever have a girl I can use it for her too.
