I have been working hard to have my natural birth this time. Listening more to my body and all that jazz. I picked the Bradley method as my tool of choice. Well for those who don't know The Bradley Method ask you to practice relaxing and breathing right a few times a day. Now I have been doing this for 4 weeks now and this is the first time this has happened and I think it was so cool I had to share.
I get this feeling I need to practice. I normally only practice it twice a day at nap time and bed time when my daughter is asleep. But I think ok I need to be listening to my body and start my relaxation mantras in my head and start relaxing. Right about the time I get to telling myself to relax my belly and breath through my mouth; CONTRACTION not the little BH I have been getting but full on must breath right contraction. I felt my whole body fight it first instinct of contracting with the contraction, I tell myself you MUST relax. Well, I have to say that I am now a true believer in the fact that relaxing trough a contraction is going to work for me. The second I stop contracting with the contraction the pain stopped (not the contraction just the pain) and I was able to let the contraction happen.
I also now believe I am more in tune with my body than I have ever been. I think this is the what I needed to stop my fear of laboring naturally.
