Gifts for 7 y/o boys?

I bet you all get questions like this all the time...

I've been invited to a seven year old boy's birthday party at the end of the month and am bad about picking age appropriate gifts. So, tell me what your six-going on-seven year old boys like.

All I really know about this kid is that he likes super heroes (like Superman) and he's in first grade.

My go to gifts are generally books but I wasn't sure what was good for that age. Captain Underpants, maybe?

My 7 year old likes the "Fly Guy" books. (There is one about Fly Guy being a superhero) and Legos.

Legos are always good. There's also series of Lego Hero Factory kits that are Marvel and DC super heroes. They're very easy to put together as well -- my 6yo can do it.

When my son was that age he loved playdough, anything sports related and books. Captain Underpants and Hank the Cow Dog series were top picks for him.
