DS is 17 months and we just started using a blanket instead of the sleepsack and he's doing great with it...
but i went in to wake him up today (had 10 min to be at library class...i know judge away!) and he was using his blanket as a pillow! it was actually really cute.
i wasn't really planning to use a pillow until he went into a toddler bed but just thought i'd get your thoughts!
thanks ladies

beta @ 5w0d = 12,026! u/s 4/22/14 @ 8w1d it's twins!
We gave DD a pillow at 21 months when we took the paci away. She loves it. She too was using blankets as pillows before that so it just seemed like she was ready.
I bought a really small toddler one so she lays on it perfectly. A twin or even a regular child one would be way too big.

DS has had his blanket since 6 months old and he uses it to cuddle and suck his thumb. We added a pillow around 10 months old because he wanted to lay down like his sister (would practice in her bed)
He still won't sleep with a blanket on him for warmth.....kicks and screams. He only wants his blanket to cuddle and suck his thumb.
We moved him to a toddler bed around 16 months old, and since then has STTN (used to wake up cry and I would settle him back down), and now naps 2.5 hours where before it was maybe, if I was lucky, 1 hour in the crib. poor kid is so claustrophobic!
We have a little toddler pillow in his crib. He always starts the night on it but rarely stays there for the duration. On the whole, it doesn't cause a problem and he seems to like it.
This. We gave him the pillow around 12 1/2 months I'd say. Maybe 13. He rarely stays on it, but when I put him down at night he grabs his blanket, cuddles it and then hugs the pillow. It's honestly one of my favorite parts of the day because it's so cute!
