Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Recommend your video monitor

Yes, I know I'm on 12-24! We tried to get by without spending the money for a video monitor, and were doing find until recently. I suspect my DD is playing quietly in her crib and not napping. We get her up and not too much longer, she seems exhausted! This has happened several times over the last few weeks. I'm glad that she's learned to play independently (this is HUGE for her/us) but she also needs her sleep!

What video monitor do you own, and does it still work well for an older baby/toddler?

Thanks!

  • I LOVE my Infant Optics Monitor. I still use it to take a glance at DD...probably will use it for a long time. The other cool thing about it is that it can use batteries OR plug into an outlet. Also, it has a power save mode where the screen will go black but come back on if DD makes some noise and wakes up (you could switch to always watching though and not use the power save too). I guess it goes on sale periodically knocking off $100 too. I caught the sale on time and had an amazon gift card so I barely had to pay anything! Looks like it's on sale now!

  • We have the Summer Infant BabyTouch color monitor and it's been great since he was born. I like being able to control the camera from the monitor. I also like that I can talk to him from the monitor, which is something that is just recently coming in handy as he gets older. The monitor runs on batteries for several hours but won't last all night not plugged in. I'm expecting DS2 in January and we'll be ordering a second camera that connects to the same monitor, another cool feature.

We have this one and I love it! We don't use it much except for naps. She ends up in the bed with us at night but works great!
  • We have the Motorola also and it works great. A little pricey but worth it. You add multiple cameras. It had some of the best reviews, i looked at a few different products on multiple sites.
