How are you bathing LO nowadays?

Might be a stupid question, but FTM here :)  I am still bathing E in the baby bathtub inside the big bathtub.  She is getting big though, so wondering what is normal for the next step of bathing.  She isn't sitting up on her own yet.  Sorry for the ignorance...I am clueless.  Thanks!

  • We're still bathing DS in the baby tub inside the big tub too. We have this one: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2403667 so he still fits into fine. Once he gets a little older and can sit up really well (around 8 or 9 months) we'll put him into the big tub.

  • We rarely give her baths anymore...instead she takes showers with us and seems to like that much better.  Plus it's much less time instead of filling up the baby tub and getting the water right and everything.  Plus it's fun.  we always get lots of smiles from her so I think she likes it.

  • I just lay her down in the big bathtub with about an inch of water. About a month ago she was trying to roll over while in the sling and would scream. Now she has a blast and splashes the whole time. It's so cute!

  • I'm still bathing Kate on a sling type tub...she in nowhere near sitting up by herself yet. When she starts to tripod sit, or become a bit more stable, I'll move her into the whale tub.
  • He showers with me. He loves it and hates the baby tub so it works for us.

We have this one too. I have him laying down in it and he seems too long really. Maybe I'll try having him do more of the sitting position.

Yeah, I have this same one.  I have her on the recliner side.  She loves to kick her legs and she is long enough to be kicking the end of the tub.  Maybe I will try the other side next time...but then she won't be able to kick at the water as much!

That is what I thought too. Plus he won't be in the water as much and he might get colder. Idk. I may try it tonight and report back.

  • We put the baby tub in the sink. When she masters sitting, it'll be in the sink, Because my back can't handle the tall tub lean.

Yup another one here with this one, it's pink and she's on the recliner side. We put it on the sink still. She loves it and kicks like crazy too, we laugh through the whole bath watching her.

  • I have this tub https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3680336.  We are still using the infant seat and we probably will continue until he can sit up on his own.  When he can, we will still continue to use just the tub until it seems too small for him.

This. We lay a towel down in the bottom. He loves it!

  • I get in the tub with her. I stopped using the plastic tub for her a long time ago as she seemed to not like baths. But when I brought her in the big tub with me she loved it!

Its becoming a bit hard now, she moves around so much, squirms, kicks, splashes like crazy... I get worried she'll get out of my arms.

  • he takes a shower with DH and when he needs to be soaped, DH uses the bumbo on the floor of the shower and soaps him up then takes the shower head down and rinses him off.

Sometimes we just do a quick rinse, a few times a week he gets soaped up.

  • Still using the Puj tub in our pedestal sink. When they can sit up, we're moving to a FlexiBath in the tub.

  • Baby bath tub in the sink for as long as possible. The regular tub for older DD kills our backs. I can't do it twice a day.

  • So can any of you showering mamas tell me how to do this so that baby doesn't get water in his ears (I am paranoid about ear infections... probably my Mom's fault for telling me this crap) or wiggle out of my slippery arms? He has been really wiggly lately but I've really wanted to try showering with him.

  • We just make sure to clean out her ears with baby q-tips afterwards.  As far as being wiggly it took so practice but basically we wash half of her and then the other half (so like top and bottom) that way whereever we are specifically holding her isn't all soapy...if that makes sense.
