Can I wear a tampon, IVF??

I finished my BCPs last Sunday, and I am to continue to Lupron. I have my first u/s appointment tomorrow. My RE said I would most likely start my period during this time before I start the rest of the medications...Can I wear a tampon?
10/2009 #1 IUI with trigger-failure 11/2009 #2 IUI with trigger- failure 12/2009 #3 IUI with trigger-failure 01/2010 IVF cycle started~02/18 ER 7 eggs 4 fertilized 2 viable,~ 02/22 ET 2 embryos~ 11/2010 healthy baby girl born!! 8/2011 tigger/natural approach -failure 9/2011 natural approach-failure 10/2011 #1 IUI with trigger-failure 01/2012 IVF cycle started~02/16 ER 17 eggs 0 fertilized ???~ET cancelled Questions unanswered :( ~~ September 2012 IVF#3 !! Excited and hopeful! Plan is to do ICSI! Trying to Conceive Ticker Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    my acupuncturist says its better not to, RE never mentioned it. I hate pads, but I do them the months before cycles. GL.

    Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
    DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
    Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
    IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
    FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
    IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th
    SAIF/PAIF always welcome

    a special GL and prayers to my IF sister Gregermis

    Interesting. I can't leave my house in a pad. I detest them with a passion and definitely wore a tampon at the start of IVF.

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:41 and BRCA1+, DH:46
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    K & K born 11/21/14 at 38wks 4 days

    RE never mentioned, never thought to ask. I wore one the first 2 days of my cycle

    Yes you can wear a tampon. My RE said the only time you should not use tampons/have sex/etc was after the ER through Beta.

    Interesting question!  I never would've thought of this at all.  I HATE pads.  I wore won after HSG and felt like I was wearing a diaper.  Before that, I probably hadn't worn one since I first started my period in early middle school.  Very glad to hear tampons are a-ok.
    2 year TTC journey with successful IVF in Nov 2012- B/G Twins!
    Baby Boy diagnosed with omphalocele and diaphragmatic hernia
    Born at 32 weeks due to PROM.  Emergency c-section due to prolapsed cord.
    Said Goodbye to our sweet Bennett after 5 short hours.  
    Spent 35 days in the NICU with our little girl.

    I actually asked my RE this and she said it was fine to use a tampon.

    On my baseline, my US tech asked if I wanted to use the bathroom to put in a tampon.  Yes, you can wear them in your period.  No during ER and beyond (even if you have heavy bleeding and a negative Beta, my RE's paperwork says no tampons at least until second Beta.)
