Hard spot below belly button?

I'll be 12 weeks this Friday, I can feel a hard spot below my belly button. Anyone  know what it is?   This is my first baby

  • My OB pointed it out at my last appointment- it's your uterus, and sometimes baby (depending on where they feel like hanging out at the time).

It's also totally normal to feel it sometimes but not others so no need to worry if you suddenly can't feel it anymore :)

Oh good! I felt this too before and it went away the next day. I thought for some reason it was because I had a full bladder lol.

  • That's your uterus where the baby is! First sign of a bump!

  • Wait until you're significantly further along and you go to sit up from lying down and you notice a huge vertical hump down the center of your stomach from where your muscles seperated to make room for the baby. Talk about crazy!

  • So, we can feel the hard spot and every time we feel the hard spot, we put the Doppler on it and there's the baby!  It's VERY obvious when I have a full bladder and I can feel the hard spot shift in my belly.  It's really bizarre but my m-i-l, who is a RN, said that we're feeling the baby move around.
