Peytons Hair =(

Her hair has been noticeably..different over the last month or so.  It just looks icky. Like it hadn't been washed in weeks icky.  It sucked but wasn't high on my radar. My grandma asked me about it a couple of times lately and i just said I didn't know, but now it's SO THIN.  She has like atleast 30-40% less hair volume, and when it's wet it's barely there.  She had such pretty long hair.  I was looking through pictures and in July it was normal, now..it's not.

I guess i'm going to take her to the pedi tomorrow or Tuesday to see what we can do (im sure nothing).  And, i'm sure it's just a normal toddler thing (I read it happens, if the child has a traumatic event/illness/etc it can make the hair growth cycle get off wack).  But, my cousin has something that when she was a child made her hair ALL fall out, and it's been 10+ years and it's never grown back, so that makes me worry a little more.

Re: Peytons Hair =(

  • Has her diet changed recently?  Is she eating the same quantity as ahe always has?  Hoping you get an answer.

She doesn't eat that great anyway, but no changes that I know of.   I haven't actually found her hair laying around which is why I think it's a growth issue.  My hair was falling out like crazy when my thyroid was messed up so I would feel better if she had some basic labs with thyroid especially since she's been so angry/emotional.  I know I was pretty angry and easily irritated when my thyroid was messed up.

  • Pedi said to give it 2 weeks and he would call me to see if I still felt like it was thinning/not normal.  He said their was a ton of labs we could run but that structurally when he looked at her hair, it wasn't broken, etc.

So fingers crossed it starts to look better bc we do NOT need another specialist!  (he said either derm, or rheumatology)
