After about 8 months of trying using OPK's and not spending a lot of time thinking about it or researching things, that time went by pretty quick and stressfree. Then I decided to kick things into high gear: bought a fertility monitor, conception cap, green tea, mucinex, 3 books, started temping, saw 2 acupuncturists none of whom I liked, ate fertility foods like yam and pineapple, made appts with RE and Urologist and found sites like this one, FF, and 2WW, learning the acronyms. Well, this month has been the longest ever and I feel for all of you going through ART. I see this is going to be a long and involved ride and am not excited about it. Tomorrow is my first appt. with the RE. At least I have one month of charting to show him.
Starting to have all of those thoughts like why did we wait so long? We just weren't ready to get married until we were ready, you know? Now maybe it's too late. I remember telling DH before we married last year that over 35 it gets a lot harder and I don't think he really believed me ., don't want to start playing the blame game here. Can't spiral down into panic mode since that won't help.
Re: 1 month of obsessing down
I am sorry you are feeling so stressed, but hopefully you will get some answers at your RE appt. And,on a positive note, your chart looks nice! Easy to see where you ovulated. Sounds like you are on the right track. Good luck!
I am in the same boat as you... married later than "normal" and trying to start a family after 35. It can be scary. Don't have any advice other than don't dwell on the past and that I hope you have a great visit with your RE tomorrow and that you can get a plan in place that makes you feel better about this journey.
Good luck!!!!

Thanks ladies! I guess that was more of a vent than anything else.
The first RE appt was OK I guess. We talked to a junior doctor for an hour who told us all of the basic stuff I already know but I guess it was nice for my husband to hear all of it (how ovulation works, timing BD etc.) from a professional. I was annoyed because the real doc we made an appt with who is in high demand I guess and very busy only saw us for like 5 mins and then his next availability for a follow-up isn't until Oct 25 which is 2 cycles from now! I did my day 3 blood work today and have a hysterosonogram scheduled for next week, then after that my day 20 blood work. Hopefully the doc can call me with results and next steps so we won't have to wait until Oct 25 for that. Good news is that my husband got his SA back and all is good with him.
