DIY inserts

Anyone here make their own inserts? I'm thinking about it, just don't know how many layers or what fabric to use. MF isn't cutting it anymore. I bought a couple bamboo on etay but they just don't have enought layers. I've heard good things about Zorb/bamboo?

    I know someone who makes her inserts out of ShamWow-type shammies :)
