My DD started asking me to buy school lunch this week. My nightmare! I finally figured it out. It's not the food (which she said she wouldn't eat) or even the chocolate milk ... DD doesn't want to carry her lunch box all the way back to her classroom before heading out to the playground! She didn't want to miss out on recess! Phew! So now she and her rotating BFF of the day each hold a side of the handle and walk back to the classroom "like twins!!" before heading out to play. Crisis averted!
Monster! My original plan was to use the ears as fangs, but I think he looks cuter this way. Halved/stacked PB/honey sandwich with mini grapes and cupcake topper details on the top. The bottom half has a sliced nectarine and cheese cubes on a homemade pick.
Legos! This Container Store box (and the mini one inside it) are technically for storing Legos, but the product description says food grade plastic, so I was sold! This box is quite large, so I put a juice box inside. There's also a cheese Lego sandwich, a few Wheat Thins to fill in the gap, a green Lego container of grapes, a few grape tomatoes and some snap peas.
Easy fish theme. Now that I look at it, though, I see that orange food does not look appealing in an orange box! In the shallow top compartment are some Goldfish. In the box are mini sealed sandwiches (I bought the press on allthingsforsale.com). In the main part of the container are blueberries, grape tomatoes, cheese and the fish container has sliced strawberries.
Are you ready for the ugly ones?
A train?? I show you the fails along with the good ones so you know that I have lots of off days and IT DOESN'T MATTER because it's only food! DD still ate it, and life goes on. I think this would have looked better on a plate and not crammed into a box. Anyway, the train is a PB/honey sandwich with a cheese window and sprinkle conductor wearing a pick hat. There are also pretzels, grapes, a stack of Wheat Thins, plus a few Cheerios because I knew it wasn't looking right! Snap pea train tracks, blueberries on a pick for the wheels and a tomato in front (what's that little triangle part of the train called?). My favorite part is the popcorn "smoke" coming out of the top of the train. FAIL, but still food!
Leftover spaghetti. I rounded it out with a sidecar of snap peas and grapes, plus a mini container of Parmesan and a dog container with a little bit of pudding.
PIP your cute lunches here! Have a great week!
