Tell me I'm being wacky

DD1 finally moved to a twin sized bed.  Her crib converted to a toddler bed and she didn't seem to mind it.  We have an identical crib/toddler bed being used by DD2.  Anyhow, now DD1 is out of her toddler bed and it's not being used.  We are selling things at an upcoming consignment sale and I am refusing to sell the crib/toddler bed or mattress.  It came from IKEA so it wasn't expensive to begin with but it's in perfect condition (unlike the one crib chewer, I mean DD2 is using) and we are trying to get money together for a trip in the spring.  I don't know if we are done having kids but I don't anticipate us ever needing to have 2 cribs at the same time again.  Tell me that my sentimental feelings are wacky and I can go ahead and get rid of my 'babys' bed.

  • I am so sentimental about stuff! I just got rid of DDs baby clothes and she's almost 4! Go ahead and get rid of it... It's very cleansing to let things go... I think I'm ready to let some of the other gear go now too. If we end up with a third, I will buy at consignment instead of new this time.

My brother cut his sons crib up and made picture frames out of it.

  • I would sell it although I personally would never buy a used mattress - even from a baby.  I don't find the sentiment if something like a bed - things my child made or personalized things - yes, I love that stuff but furniture is furniture.
