I know 7 Wiliams under the age of 5...it is really popular here (then I also know a bunch of kids named Liam - not sure if any of them are actually named William and just use Liam as a nickname...) We actually almost named DS1 William, but about a week before he was born I discovered that DH was planning on calling him "Willy", so I changed it.

We had a no Willy rule as well as a no Bill or Billy rule. I was planning on calling him Liam for short, but I never really do, it just feels weird saying. I'm not around many kids, so that could be part of why I'm not aware of many with the name. However, I know about 10 Caden's or different versions of the spelling.
Re: Neat article about baby names
I have never met a child named William. I had a friend in high school named William but that is the only person I have ever met irl with that name.
I do know a few baby Williams. It's a great name!
I know a few grown up Williams who don't go by William, but rather thier middle name!
But I know a bunch of baby Liams, which is short for William. So, maybe?
I know a seven-year-old William.
And I'm thrilled that my Margaret Louise would have been super popular in 1911. Her buddy Florence, too!

I don't know any William's besides adults.
For us we know a few Lily's but no other Lillian's (so far).
I kind of like the female 1911 names better than the 2011 ones.
I thought my LO's name would be on the 1911 list, but I guess her name started falling in popularity by 1880.
