Just had an ultrasound today (32w4d) and found out our LO is Frank breech. I asked our tech when most babies will flip into head down position and she said "They are all different, but you WILL know when he does"
Curious to when LO flipped and how you knew?

Re: When did your LO flip?
With the first I was sitting on my couch watching tv and he moved, but it was a big movement and kind of hurt, it felt like he was kicking out both sides of my belly for a split second and then it was over. I believe it was somewhere between 26 and 28wks but I don't remember.
This time it was just after my 28wk appt. Same type of movement, but I was sitting differently. I felt it on my pubic bone. Both times it made me flinch, it felt different than any movement through either pregnancy so far.
ETA: my ins doesn't cover u/s after the a/s unless there's an issue so this is just speculation...
Did it feel any different afterwards?!
I'm PRETTY SURE this baby flipped about two weeks ago.
I'll find out for sure this Friday at my ultrasound but it wasn't a big movement so much as the kicks moved from my bladder to my ribs.

Ummm... I think the thing that confirmed it for me was the "little" movements that I imagined were hands and feet went from bottom to top. I couldn't tell where their heads were, but it kind of felt like a "tickle" feeling that I would feel down by my hips before and then up across the top and sides of my belly after.
With my first pregnancy my OB did a lot more feeling of my belly to make sure he was in position b/c we didn't know I would be having a c/s. This time (and I don't know if it's just not time or it's just not an issue b/c it's a RCS and he doesn't care how the baby is laying) he hasn't done anything other than belly measurements so far. No internals yet or anything, but I think they can tell when they do an internal weather there's a hard head there or not...
Timing is random, but feeling it probably depends on the baby. This little girl is pretty strong and I definitely felt it the day she flipped. There was a lot of pushing and stretching on each side of my belly and at a few points, it felt like she was stalling until she could figure out what to do, next.
Then, it was over. And she started kicking me in the lungs.
This is my first baby so I didn't really know what to expect but one day the baby had hiccups and I could feel them pretty low on my left side and 2 days later I felt them on the upper right side. The next day I went to the doctor and asked him about it and he felt around and told me that he could tell he was head down. I haven't had an ultrasound to confirm but I definitely feel a large "lump" where he said his butt was and smaller ones where his feet and hands should be and the hiccups he gets so often are right where the doctor said his back would be. I'm just going with it right now and hoping to confirm at my u/s in 2 weeks.
She flipped sometime between our a/s at 21 weeks and our follow up a/s at 28 weeks. I had no idea she had flipped.
Mine flipped at 35 weeks. Most do. If he/she doesn't flip, they will schedule a c-section. I do NOT recommend doing an external version. They aren't safe which is why a lot of docs won't even do them. I'm a nurse and they come at a potential high risk to mom and baby where as c-sections a safe and performed often.
Statistically, he/she will probably flip.
The complication rates for version are 1 to 2 percent. No fatal outcomes since 1980 except 2 cases in Africa which were done with NO fetal monitoring. I am also an RN and I've done a lot of reading. These risks are lower than C/S, which is why I gave the version a try at 36 weeks. It was unsuccessful which, unfortunately, is common about 50 percent in FTM, but baby flipped to head down on his own sometime in the few days following. I had no idea that he'd flipped, since he stretches and rolls a lot more than he kicks at this point. It had to be confirmed by U/S to make me believe! :
Well, I certainly didn't know when LO flipped. I still felt a lot of movement down low, and I've still never felt a kick above my belly button. I was told about two weeks ago that he is head down, and it was confirmed again yesterday. He could still flip again, though. Most docs don't even worry about it until 36 weeks.
Thank you for posting the follow up. There are lots of docs that won't automatically schedule a c-section, plus lots of things to try (even apart from version) to get the baby into position.
