Wow...my DD is one strong willed chick. I would leave it at that, but I straight up need advice.
She 'was' (is) on Neocate. We've been doing yogurt for about a week and a half, and have NOT watched food in regards to milk products and she has done very well. Not having any reaction at all. We were going to go to Nutramigen...Well, that was a FAIL! She hated it and threw..no joke...THREW her bottle.
At her one year, Pedi said, since she's doing so well with the milk products to try a little milk (2-4 oz) a day in a week and then offer water/juice/ and wean off of formula.
Well, guess what, sister wants nothing to do with ANYTHING other than her formula. For real. She throws her bottle when anything else is in it, I try to hold her and 'feed' her, nothing is working! I am diluting her formula big time. I.E. 2 oz with a ton of water and that is the only thing she will drink. I did get 2 oz of whole milk down her yesterday and we have had no reaction. But, tried today and she again turned her nose at it along with everything else.
We are at the end of formula days, people. We have half a can left. I'm not going to buy more or ask for a sample from the pedi because frankly, she doesn't need formula anymore being that she's one & that was my pedi's advice.
help! Advice! Words of Wisdom! Empathy! What in the world will she drink? She is a bear too when she isn't getting her formula. WOW!
TIA...a bunch! ![]()
Re: Holy heck, we are in trouble ..
Have you tried cutting the formula with the milk/ instead of water? That is how I got mine transitioned. I started with 1oz of milk in her formula, and upped an ounce every few days.

Spontaneous pregnancy #5= Baby #3 is a BOY!!!
Definitely cut the bottle and go straight to the sippy. It always seems easiest just to transition both at the same time so they're not expecting one thing and getting another.
I may have missed part of your post, but does she like water? My LO TBH isn't the best milk drinker but I try to feed her calcium otherwise and she drinks water like the well is going dry
so I don't worry. Not every kid likes milk, nor do they necessarily have to.
Otherwise, cold turkey all the way. Keeop offering water/regular milk. She'll be thirsty sooner than later..I promise. She won't drink though if you cave even once, but she'll keep expecting it!
oh my goodness, I left out a huge part of our dilemma...
she can't stand sippy cups. I have tried like, all of them. She throws them as well. I mean really, she turns her head at them! I feel like I'm going crazy!
This is what I did as well. Also put it in a sippy cup instead of a bottle. Also she will throw it but don't worry. She will eventually realize that that is all she's getting and start drinking it. Sometimes DD still throws her cup when I give her her sippy but I think she's just looking for a reaction. GL!
Have you tried a straw cup? My LO hates sippy cups but does really well with these...

and these...

I would try giving millk with a straw. Some kids skip the sippy's and go straight for straws. My DS will drink Milk from a sippy but not water. Water must come from a straw or water bottle.
Don't put milk in the bottle, she'll be expecting her formula... When we started with milk we went straight to sippy
