My Wild Child LOL

My almost 2 year old (boy) is crazy haha I know its the age and they have a very short attention span but he isn't at all into sitting and reading, doing crafts, etc..etc..

Anytime we have attended a class he will NOT do circle time, he is occasionally the only one not always but often, hes more into his own thing. He's not bad at all, he just has a mind of his own and a lot of energy to release LOL  As i said, i know age plays a part as does their attention span Im just wondering if anyone has any ideas to encourage a little down time. He will sit and watch TV, Im not against tv at all but i dont want that to become an all day thing either!  I'd really like to encourage him in more in reading, crafts, puzzles...things like that. Other than doing it daily is there anything that you did to encourage these types of activities?

TIA Ladies!!

Re: My Wild Child LOL

  • I think maybe try doing a puzzle and make it very interesting so he will be interested. Same with a book just start to read and he will come along. Just keep trying and you will notice he will gradually become interested. You need to make it exciting and fun for him.

  • OP I too am having a hard time with my LO staying still while doing circle time, reading, crafts, etc. I hope she eventually comes around and stays interested. We start mommy and me again Thursday so I hope that it helps which it does a little.
  • Try doing different sensory bins. Use a large plastic bin, fill with rice, beans, or dried pasta and place some measuring cups in there with maybe some Easter Plastic eggs, plastic animal toys, just about anything you might think could be interesting and safe to a toddler. You may be surprised how busy they get with these.

Google sensory bins for toddlers, you'll get something similar;) good luck!
