Selected as a juror

Yep.....I got picked. This big trial will last 2-3 weeks. Needless to say, it has wreaked havoc on our lives. I'm lining up family and friends to watch Ross. It didn't matter that I am a nursing mother. They selected several people with trips planned and college classes and exams. It is going to be an interesting case, but man does it come at a bad time. And 2-3 weeks!!!! My head is still spinning.

Oh man... I am so surprised. Here in Mass. nursing means an automatic out. How will you be able to pump?

I am honestly shocked. If I were SAH I would have no one to watch LO and would need to bring her with me to the courthouse. If you didn't have friends or family to watch- would they provide daycare?

Are you going to be sequestered? My dh had a week of sequestered jury duty when i was pg with DS. It was not fun for either of us.

aww man, I'm sorry. In your other post I said how I got to push mine back but thry told me they won't push it back again for me. I really don't know what we would do if I got picked besides flying people from out of town to come watch ds.

2-3 week trial, wow! Once it's over I want to know what it was about. I think I'm in the minority in that I like jury duty. I got picked twice, once for a shoplifting case the other was a murder trial. It's all very interesting to me.

Ha....I thought you said "bump". I pumped at lunch in a private room. It's probably going to kill my supply. I could've filled out an affidavit up to 2 weeks prior, but honestly I never thought I'd be picked! I'd be excited, if it weren't for Ross. They said we will not be sequestered. It is high profile here in metro ATL though, so press will be present. I feel like my night flew by. I miss my baby and it's only day 2! Oh and DS14 is out of school tomorrow and watching Ross most of the day. Should be interesting. I'll keep y'all updated.

I think it's really interesting too, but if shortly after having a baby and taking a chance on my supply? No interesting enough.

Maybe if you make a stink about needing to pump more often, they will let you out?

I totally agree and am actually really surprised that she was even selected. On the murder trial we had a pregnant woman and the lawyers/judge asked her multiple times if she was really ok with it. She ended up having m/s one time while we were in the jury box and everyone got a break.

I thought it would be really cool to do too, but I was never selected any of the times I've been up for it, it is just really hard with nursing and having no day care. I'm hoping it won't be any issue since I was able to push mine back to the start of the year. I may not even be selected though.

Be sure to tell us how it goes. I hope you are able to have some fun with it and no supply issues!
