I've posted here several times, I have a 4.5 mnth lo with MFPI. At 5 weeks the green bloody stools began and I went dairy/soy free, and the moved to a TED several weeks later. I have now been on a soy free vegan diet for almost 2 mnths, which she has been doing well on except for the occasional spot of blood and persistent mucous. We had her GI followup yesterday, and she is having me test 3 stools for blood and will recommend stopping bfing if they are a strong positive. I know they will be. Besides that, I can't keep weight on and am almost underwt for my ht, covered in bruises, moody, and exhausted. I know I have done everything possible, but still feel like a complete failure. I'm so bummed that I won't make it to the 6 mnth mark bfing, let alone 1+. Sorry, just needed to vent, because no one in real life gets it.
Re: my bfing days are numbered:-(
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy

DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

I'm so sorry. I can relate. I have been dairy, soy, wheat, nut free for 2 months. I am now embarking on the TED. I work 60 hrs/week, and I have no life because all I do is work, make food for myself, and nurse my DD. Even so, I wouldn't mind if she were happy. But she's miserable after almost every feeding, and her poop is still green and mucousy.
On Friday, I decided to try Nutramigen at the pedi GI's suggestion. She took it from the nanny. She refused to take a bottle from me. Hearing her cry in hunger and frustration almost broke my heart, so I gave up and nursed her. I feel like this whole issue has consumed my life, and I am so confused about what to do at this point.
Good luck to you, and all the other mamas struggling with food intolerances.
