Hospital for extreme PPD

I know this had been discussed on this board a while back.  DH just told me about someone he works with and how his wife has extreme PPD - I won't go into details, but from what I've heard, that hospital may be the place to be.  Does anyone remember the name or link to the articles?  I really would like to get the information over to them... TIA

(Yes, I've been searching and I'm not using the right words so I thought you all may be able to help)

Re: Hospital for extreme PPD

  • I would think even just the ER. I know that if someone is suicidal that you can go into the ER and they can get you to the right areas. I know sometimes certain hospitals are more specialized in it so maybe they should research the local hospital first, if they have the time to do that. If it is really bad, I would take her to any hospital at all.

  • Heir to Blair was hospitalized for PPD a few years back. I don't have the link to her blog right now on my phone.
  • This is random and I'm probably mixing it up with something else but an affiliation with Duke or another university in that region comes to mind.

  • She has been to the ER and is medicated but cannot be left alone with the baby. I want to say this special facility is in Maryland...
