I work two days a week, but anyway. When I'm home with the kids I always run down my day and mention things like doing the laundry, cleaning the floors, whatever. It's like I need to get a pat on the back, or prove I did all this stuff. H couldn't really care less what I do as long as I'm spending time with the kids, but for some reason I always feel the need to prove my worth. Anyone else?
Re: SAHMs: Do you give H a rundown of your day?
Pretty much exactly this:) I always mention the extra hard work if it's exceptional - like 3 blowouts or cat vomits or meltdowns by older DS, just to prove I'm working hard too, haha. But I don't want to hear every detail about DH day (he's in finance and it's boring;) so I try not to bore him with my day either - though I'm sure I do anyway, I can't help myself!
I work two days a week outside the home, too.
I do give H a rundown of the day. He knows I can manage my time and has never questioned what I do all day, but I still feel like I need to prove to him how hard I worked at home. I don't know why, because every time he's alone with DS he tells me he doesn't know how I get stuff done.
DH and I text back and forth when possible, and I always tell him when DD poops or sleeps... yeah. Exciting! lol
I pick him up from work, and yes, we give each other a summery of our day.
I'll post this as a working mom with a part time SAH dad.. Dh goes to school m, w, f for 4 hours a day. I get home and love hearing about their day. I want the nitty gritt too - when his naps were, how many ounces he ate, when he ate, what activities they did, his general mood.
I can usually tell what kind of chores were done. Usually it is picking up and prepping for dinner,
