My husband and I have recently begun the adoption process, and at this time are proceeding with international adoption from Russia. We have found a agency that will do the home study and have completed most of the paperwork, but the international agency seems too overwhelming. Does anyone have experience with international agencies or have advise on how to choose one over another. Rainbowkids.com has been helpful with requirements and overview of the process of all different countries, and gives links to agencies that work with Russia, but, I'm fearful that this is such an important part, I don't want to make the wrong decision. I'm waiting to hear with back from our home study agency, to talk with them on who they've worked with before and such, but thought I'd ask here too... any helpful forums you are aware of for international adoption? Any advise would be welcomed, I feel like we're lost in this whole process... thanks
Re: New here... with so many quesitons
Hi, there! Welcome to the board!
There are plenty of ladies on this board who will be able to give you great tips on international adoption and the agencies they are using. We're in a domestic infant adoption program, so I won't be much help for anything other than encouragement.
There's one person in particular who may be helpful ? JillianMB. She and her DH are in the process of adopting their son from Russia and just made their first trip to meet him this summer. She has a great blog that could be a good resources for you too.
Good luck with everything!
