One cat. We had 3 when we got married, but lost my 2 in a couple months' time. Now we have "his" cat. He's a big ol' Siberian. Huge, but a giant wuss. Hates DD but copes by avoiding her as much as possible. Had hyperthyroid and lost a ton of weight, but back to fighting form.
I'd have to hunt for a pic. If I get bored tonight I'll find one.
We have three dogs! Pongo is the oldest (8), and he's a beagle/shih tzu mix. Lucy is our adopted greyhound/saluki mix (coming up on 4 years old), and Sam is our crazy 3-year old jack russell/beagle mix. We definitely have a full house!
We have decided that we'll probably only adopt rescued greyhounds from now on, we fell in love with the breed when we adopted Lucy.
We have one dog, Chaz, who is in my siggy. I grew up with dogs but DH didn't, so he is our first and DH's only dog ever. He is our first border collie (mix) and I am hard pressed to have anything else after this.
He is quite smart and LOVES learning. He is constantly watching us, trying to figure out what we want him to do. He likes being clean and doesn't really get into things. He also understands the difference between his toys and the baby's, which has been incredibly helpful. The downside of his constant watchfulness is that he isn't nearly as happy-go-lucky as some of the dogs I grew up with, but I love his personality.
The only tough parts about him come from his past. He was with a hoarder for the first two years of his life, and malnutrition means he has terrible teeth. He is also somewhat afraid of big dogs (the woman had 200 dogs when they rescued him), so he postures aggressively when dogs approach him, although he has never actually bitten or snapped.
He is WONDERFUL with our DS, and he has seemed to enjoy him more and more as DS has gotten older and more interactive. I think the best is yet to come with the two of them.
Ok... can you tell I love my dog a little?
November 2011: after nearly two years of infertility, we are moving on to domestic infant adoption.
February 2012: Matched!
May 2012: Placed with our son!
We have a 4-year-old miniature pinscher named Roxy that we got from a rescue when she was a year old. She started out SO crazy... but now that the puppy years are in the past, she's turning into a pretty good dog. DD loves her! They chase each other around and share chew toys (gross, I know, but I can't keep DD out of the puppy toy bin). Ha!
This pic is 2 years old, but she still looks pretty much the same.
We have decided that we'll probably only adopt rescued greyhounds from now on, we fell in love with the breed when we adopted Lucy.
LOVE greyhounds! My sister has a rescued greyhound that is SO sweet. DH and I talked about getting one before we got Roxy but decided our house is too small. Boo.
The first one is C.C., though a lot of people misspell is as CiCi. (She is NOT named after a pizza chain!) C.C. stands for cookies n cream, which is what she looks like. We believe she is a ***-a-poo (part cocker spaniel, part poodle) at about 6 years old.
The second one is Teddy. We call him that because when his hair grows out, he looks like a teddy bear. He is a mutt with some poodle in him (we believe). We have no idea how old he is, but the vet would guess around 9.
2 cairn terriers like Toto from wizard of oz; Foxy is 5 yrs, wheaten color Gus is 5 mths, tan color. Foxy is a snuggly sweetie; Gus is crazy rambunctious. Still house training Gus; seems a bit more stubborn than I remember Foxy being. They're definitely the babies!
My sweet kitty passed away of old age last year, here is one of my favorite pictures of her - she always has red eye and this one I got the red eye so it's a great picture of her!
We want to get another cat we're just not quite ready yet.
We have a cat! We adopted him from a shelter a year ago this summer. He was just a kitten. He loves DH bc DH is gentle with him. I always pick him up and squish him with hugs and talk to him like he's a baby and he always tries to squirm away from me. I guess I'm like an annoying mom and he's a teenager. He's so cute I can't help it! His name is Jasper and he's a siamese/ragdoll cross.
TTC September 2010 thru October 2011 SA February 2011: Normal RE App. October 2011 - Recc. Clomid and IUI
Taking a break from TTC to pursue adoption
Met our 2 year old son in Russia July 2012! Court trip October 2012 Home November 24 2012!
I have a 6 year old yorkie/shih tzu mix. His picture is below. Luckily, he loves babies so I know he'll be great around our LO. He is normally pretty calm these days, but the other day we were putting together a basket for our BM and we had some of those slipper socks and he ran off with them. He loves it when we chase him for stuff.
Married Since 09/2006, TTC Since 09/2010
DX: Unexplained infertility, DH normal
3 Femara cycles - Oct, Nov, Dec 2011, all BFNs
IVF #1, ER 2/15 (5R, 4M, 4F), ET 2/18, Beta 2/29 = BFN
Follistim + IUI on 6/25 = BFN
Home Study Finalized 8/14/12! Profile Active - 8/17/12!
Officially Matched 8/29/12, Our perfect angel born 9/25/12!
We have a ridiculously adorable pug, named LT. He is so much fun and definitely is our first-born! He is a certified therapy dog, so I take him to visit kids at the hospital and we participate in a read with the dogs program at the public library. He and our LO are madly in love with each other! It is so cute!
Our first child is Rutabaga (aka Rudy), our golden retriever. He is spoiled beyond belief, but he is just so darn cute. But he doesn't rely soley on his good looks, he also LOVES to help bring in the groceries, get the mail and get the newspaper. He is awesome!
He will even help with homework!
He always makes us laugh with the random things he does. While DH was working in his office, Rudy decided to practice for the circus and climb on top of this chair!
Rudy loves to lay like this. He will now do it on command "Lounge". We were going to call it "Show us your junk", but figured that wasn't the most kid-friendly command.
We give his ice cubes as treats, so when it snows (which doesn't happen often in NC) he loses his mind because there are treats EVERYWHERE!
Here is his favorite spot- our bed! (Ignore the wrinkled sheets!)
Here he is wearing his "Big Brother" scarf at one of our baby showers!
Based on my screen name, i am sure it's not hard to guess that we have bunnies
This is sweet Cherry Bugg..... my husband grew up with bunnies as pets but I was a dog/cat family. I love my buns now... such sweet and good pets. And clean too!!
Best friends and sisters... 24 months and 16 months
2 corgis, 3 guinea pigs, and a very large hedgehog. Busy busy. Before we got married we each had a corgi. After we got married we got the hedgehog. Then when DS was 3 we got the guinea pigs. Guinea pigs don't do well on their own, so we were going to just get 2, but then DS feel in love with this bonded trio, and I couldn't just take 2 of the 3.
