Blood in the milk?

The other day, I was pumping and afterward kind of clipped my nipple with my nail. Hurt a little, but didn't think much of it. I noticed a drop of blood on my shirt, but it wasn't actively bleeding or anything. Today, I noticed the milk I pumped had a few drops of blood siting at the bottom of the bottle. Is this safe for LO, or should I dump it?

    I would think it would be fine. I had cracked nipples in the beginning and I know my LO drank some blood since he spit up pink once or twice.

    It's safe. If there's too much it might irritate your LO's stomach, but there would have to be a lot for that to happen.

    Under normal circumstances your blood is sterile and contains loads of antibodies.  Don't worry about it.
