Ladies - So we have been on milk about 6 weeks now. My 13 month old son is having a TERRIBLE time when it comes to poop. I feel so bad for him. To put it bluntly he poops like a man. Solid. He cries and his poor little legs shake every time he has to go.
Dr recommending giving a little pear juice daily but this just is not working. He either tore something inside or now he is just afraid to poop because it hurt him so many times.
Any suggestions? I hate to see him cry and shake.
Re: 13 month and bowel movement
Ugh, I know how you feel. Our DD has had poop issues since birth!
Our pedi recommended putting miralax in her milk once a day. Miralax has a cap with lines on it and we put it up until the first line, which is like 1/4 the cap.
It has really helped! We went from the horrible hard painful poops to somewhat normal poops.
We went through something similiar with the milk transition too. Lasted about 2 weeks and then we had a week of weird diarahea like stuff so be prepared for that too.
The one thing that worked for me was to feed one of those food pouches of prunes or a prune mix at breakfast. She sucked them down no problem and it really worked. Also, I limited the milk for a bit too until she got used to it more.
Have you seen my monkey?
Thank you ALL so much for your help and guidance. I will definately be taking it all into consideration and trying it. Seems like the Prune juice is a big hit. I sure hope it works because seeing him cry and shake just breaks my heart!
Thanks again Ladies
