Smelly kid?

DD is in 1st grade and said last night that she wishes she didn't sit by Bob.  I asked why and she said he smells.  I dropped her off this am and told the teacher she got her flu shot, and as I was leaving the teacher was talking to Bob.  I could smell alittle bit of the smell as I walked by him.  It's not BO, but it was unpleasant for sure.  Do I mention what DD said to the teacher?  I don't want the other child to feel bad, but I also feel for DD who sits right.by this kid all day.  No one sits on the other side of him and his name isn't really Bob.  Thoughts?

I wouldn't mention it. If your DD smelled him and you did. The teacher already knows.

This. No use in bringing it up.

Ditto the others.  Schools have a protocol for dealing with this.

Agree, she can't really do anything unless it gets really bad anyway.  I would tell your daughter that sometime different ppl look, dress and YES smell funny, and remind her not to make fun of him for this, maybe he can't help it.  GL
