Advice please! We recently found out we are pregnant with our next child. When the baby arrives our DS will be 2 and a couple months old...so my question is do you think it will be okay to have my son and the baby room together (once our baby is about 4/5 months old)? I am worried my toddler will be roaming around freely and on accident throw toys/stuffed animals/etc into the crib where the baby is OR the baby will wake my toddler up... we are in a 2 bedroom and would like to stay here until we have some more money saved for a bigger down payment on a house.
Any advice welcome!
Marissa
Re: 2 year old & 4 month old sharing a room??
My son will be 17 months old when #2 is born. As soon as the new baby is STTN (took until 10 months with my first son), they will be sharing a room.
I have heard of people buying crib tents to protect their infant from toddlers, but I honestly know nothing about the safety of those. I do not plan on using one.
In that scenario, I agree with everyone else--keep the baby in your room during the first year or so. Having a 12 month old with stuffed animals in their bed is not as big a deal as a 1 month old.
Interesting topic.
We are having to move into a 2 bedroom apartment and they are 22 months apart.
I think I will keep baby in with us until 6 months.. my only problem is that my toddler is already having horrible jealousy issues so I'm afraid if baby sleeps in my room it will add to the jealousy and she will think... Why does mommy let sissy sleep with her and not me... ahh so frustrating. Then again I may just put the crib in the livingroom for 6 months then move them in together. IDK.
