DEAR LORD CHILD STAY ASLEEP!

Julian USED to only wake up once at night or not at all. the past 3 days he has been up every hour or 2 so from 830 pm to 7 am he wakes up 6 times! YES 6. He won't sleep unless hes next to me and I absolutely refuse to let him sleep in my bed because he was doing fine in his crib for the past 4 and a half months...what gives? he goes threw like 3 bottles a night now! yesterday it too an hr and half to get him to stay asleep in his crib. It's like hes restless or something...hmm maybe he has restless leg syndrome?

  • 4 month wakeful? Maybe he's working on something developmentally?

Either way, I fully empathize with your situation. It sucks.

  • No advice here just sending my support...we are going through the 4 month wakeful over here....Emma has been up for over an hour which has been the middle of the night trend for a few weeks now, this paired with the 3-4 wakings a night...needless to say, exhausted momma over here! Sorry I couldn't be more help, just letting you know I'm up with you.
  • I'm sorry. We are in the middle of the 4 mo wakeful also. It sucks. Hopefully you get some sleep tonight.

  • Hopefully it doesn't go on for too long. It sucks. Maybe you can get a nap today.

  • Is he distracted during feeding during the day?  Perhaps that's why he's wanting more at night, to make up for it.  That's my understanding of the 4MW.  We had it BAD with DS1:(  Hope you can get a nap in!

  • Mel is going through something similar, but I think it is teething related. She doesn't fully wake up, but squirms and whines a whole lot. It doesn't calm unless I hold her in my lap. After 20 mins of that, I usually try to put her back in the pnp, but she only seems to stay restfully (which is so not a real word...) Asleep if I keep my hand on her side/hip since she is a side or belly sleeper. If she makes it to her belly at that point, she starts to really complain. I was able to sleep a coupe of hours with my hand like that (the pnp, is right next to my bed). The only thing that seems to have helped the last few days is baby Tylenol. We have been giving her a half dose when she wakes up crying. It is definitely teething pain and teething gel freaks her out. Trying to avoid so much Tylenol though and save it for when she is really in pain. Wow I ramble a lot when tired...

  • Thanks ladies. I love you all you make me feel less insane. I just gave up and took him to bed with me and finally got some sleep...and so did he.
