Does anyone get IHSS or HIPP?

In home support service or health Insurance premium payment.

We just had our in home access ment for ihss and I'm looking into hipp which is a federal program. I'm not sure if ihss is federal or not...

Re: Does anyone get IHSS or HIPP?

  • IHSS sounds like our equivalent of medicaid waivers here.

HIPP Is state specific, not all states do it.  We do get HIPP and I'm so happy I found out about it.  Not that they tell you about these things lol.

In our case, we pay $130/week for health insurance, with a 1,000/person max (2,000/family) out of pocket/year.  So we use Peytons medicaid as secondary, that means her medicaid is only ever paying 1,000/year.  Unless of course something isn't covered, etc or picking up copays.  Opposed to the fact that she had well over 125k of stuff last year with her spinal surgery.  So we get a check each month for the month prior for about $560.

    Hope that helps.

ETA: we always had medicaid as secondary so we could have been getting HIPP since August 2010.  Sadface!
