Since this seems to be a major theme, I thought it would be nice to see them all in one place. So, share your FB announcement (whether you have gone public yet or not!)
mine was: "Roxie is getting a two legged little brother or sister in March 2013!"
Roxie is our dog...the cute thing that happened is some people were trying to think of what kind of animal had 2 legs then then looked at the comments lol
I do a lot of work in Social Media, so I was surprised when my boss showed me something I hadn't even seen yet. There is a life event for "Expecting a Baby". That's how we made the announcement and it went over really well.

So excited for Baby #1 due March 10, 2013.
We panicked a bit because we let parents and close family start telling extended family over the weekend, and thought "Someone's going to go onto FB and congratulate us, and we're not going to get to make the announcement ourselves!"
So we both picked the most obvious of the u/s pics that we got the day before, and each posted a comment (mine was a very simple and upbeat, "On to our next adventure!", my husband's was a bit sappier .. something about being so excited to be a dad, etc.).
It's funny to watch FB "blow up" when a big life announcement like that is made, we had comments and "likes" within SECONDS. Our phones didn't stop beeping and buzzing with notifications for hours, lol. It was easy finding each other in the grocery aisles that morning, that's for sure!
I just made a status that said "Jeffrey is proud to announce that he will be promoted at the end of February. He is saying goodbye to only child and hello to being a big brother! We are all looking forward to Baby Z #2. We're going to be a family of 4!!"

Not sure if this will work. I was having issues posting pics the other day. We just announced on Sunday. Then I tagged my husband in the pic on Monday. Apparently he has his settings to have him approve tags so no one could see it since we were waiting on him. Glad someone told me. I just untagged him this morning. But I didn't know about the life event. Might have to do that.
I plan to announce tomorrow. This is what I am using:

I posted a status that said "Now that our families know, I can tell you all that the *last name* family will be adding a new addition around March 25th, 2013. We are so excited to become a family of four!"
I posted our latest U/S picture and wrote "No, this is not an old post - it's Brody's little brother or sister! Due March 16th, 2013. We are very excited and feel very blessed"
Lots of cute announcements, ladies! I just announced on FB today. I had a pic of my daughter (7) and son (4) wearing shirts that read "big sister" and "big brother". I captioned it with "What does Logan's shirt say? Wonder what that means..." and people started liking and commenting immediately. I had no good ultrasound pics (none that looked like a baby!) so just decided to use the pic we used to announce to my parents.
Re: FB Announcement Thread
Here's mine. We went public last night:
This tiny little toddler has something small to say, and if you look closely, she'll show you right away!
(FYI--a nod to the Belly Button book for the first time moms)

I already AW'd mine here last week, but it was this picture:
And the caption was "Brady's going to be a big brother!"

My husband is a huge Batman fan, so for our announcement, we posted this picture with the caption "Newest Batman Production Arriving March 2013!"
Ours said
"I would like to thank everyone for their prayers. we sold our house today! Oh and we have another "minor" announcement to make..."

We used this, I have been WAY too sick to have anyone do a cute pic for us so we found one on google that fit us well. Announced on facebook today.
Just came out on FB and it feels so good!! Status says
"Although there's no bump yet it's defiantly true, we're just not sure if it's pink or blue!!"
